Sachsenbrücke Hamburg
How can a bridge inspire, connect, and transform urban life?
A bridge as urban promenade: separating traffic, creating public space, and sustainably connecting city, water, and community in Hamburg’s Grasbrook.
The Sachsenbrücke is a new urban landmark for Hamburg’s Grasbrook: a flood-safe, sustainable bridge that unites mobility, public space, and architectural clarity. Conceived as three prefabricated sub-bridges, it seamlessly separates traffic while forming an elegant urban promenade with panoramic views and Elbe balconies. Durable, low-CO₂ materials, integrated lighting, and high-quality public spaces create a place for movement and stay alike. The Sachsenbrücke connects city and harbor—precise in engineering, generous in experience, and designed for the future.
