CRCLR HUT
Berlin | Germany | 2024

The CRCLR HUT, initiated by the timber construction start-up TRIQBRIQ and the architectural firm Beta Realities, is an impressive example of the latest possibilities in the field of sustainable and circular construction. The pavilion combines modern technologies and materials that meet the highest ecological standards in both their production and their reusability.

The circular timber construction system, complemented by partners' solutions, demonstrates how a circular construction industry can be implemented in practice. The responsible architects currently estimate that over 90% of the materials used can be dismantled and reused in new projects. An absolute novelty in an industry that is responsible for 60% of resource consumption and 40% of CO2 emissions globally.

Circular architecture for the city of tomorrow.

The project showcases that an innovative and collaborative planning process with the early involvement of relevant project partners leads to efficient, circular and, above all, innovative building concepts. Through a circular material approach, a prototype building is being created in TXL as a decomposable material bank and scalable carbon sink.

A house, built in days, not weeks.

With their competence in sustainable and circular urban construction, Beta Realities aims to rethink the construction of the future in Berlin TXL. A place of collaboration for research, testing and production is being created with a focus on wood and other renewable building materials.

Small project - Huge impact.

The CRCLR HUT is a testbed for future residential and commercial construction. A prototype for simple, efficient and affordable building solutions that are scalable. Our answer to the demand for affordable architecture.

Designed for disassembly.

The CRCLR HUT is designed for completely circular construction without fixed material connections or liquids. In all areas, materials are used in such a way that they consist of natural products and can all be easily disassembled.

Natural materials for healthy spaces.

The pavilion is the first wooden structure in Berlin TXL and will remain there for three months. During this time, the initiators of the CRCLR HUT want to offer workshops on the topic of circular and sustainable building for project developers, construction companies and architectural offices

Multifunctional Spaces.

Two intersecting volumes create a facetted interior that caters to different functions and creates dynamic zoning. Hosting events as well as product displays for various group sizes, the building functions as a versatile hub.

The first wooden building in Berlin TXL is used for workshops on sustainable construction.

The pavilion is the first wooden structure on the former Tegel airport site and will remain there for three months. During this time, the initiators of the CRCLR HUT want to offer workshops on the topic of circular and sustainable building for project developers, construction companies and architectural offices.

Circular meets Micro Modular.

Elevating circular economy principles to a new level, the CRCLR HUT offers simple construction solutions for reversible buildings. Closing material loops, all building elements are designed for disassembly.

Simplicity in Construction.

The complexity of constructions and building technology has been increasing steadily for decades. This affects the requirements for all installation work. The CRCLR HUT offers a counter example for simple, fast and understandable building solutions.

Many solutions under one roof.

The CRCLR HUT impressively shows what is already possible in the area of sustainable and circular construction. It is a symbol of the future viability of our industry and the importance of partnerships.
